FAQs

Here are a few frequently asked questions about our live pilates classes. If you do have any questions about this classes or anything pilates related then please contact Ali at Pilates UP!

Why should I commit to a block of lessons?2025-11-19T13:50:18+00:00

As Pilates is a learning experience it is of huge importance that you try to attend your class regularly in order to experience the benefits Pilates promises. My lessons usually run in blocks of 7 lessons.

What happens if I am unable to make it to my usual class?2025-11-25T15:01:47+00:00

We have a system in place called ‘Bee Inclined’ which enables you to add a class that you are unable to attend onto a swap board on my website. You then receive a token which enables you to catch up your missed class somewhere else in the timetable.

I have an injury, can I start in a group class?2025-11-25T15:02:05+00:00

It is always advisable to start your journey into Pilates with a private lesson to help you understand the basic terminology and to get to grips with finding the deep core muscles. This is even more important if you are suffering with an injury or are in chronic pain.

I’m new to Pilates what should I bring to class with me, and what should I wear?2025-11-19T13:49:23+00:00

To start with you will only need a mat, perhaps later you might want to purchase your own head cushion, bands etc, but these are also provided should not have them. We usually use our own hand weights which should be between 1 kg ( beginners ) and  5 kg ( experienced and strong )

Your clothing should be easy to move in, something like leggings and T shirt are fine. Please wear clean socks or clean bare feet!

Sometimes a bottle of water might be necessary.
